On August 16, 2024, the Finance Commission of Texas approved the Department’s FY25 budget. The budget includes the following licensing/registration fee increases:

  • Mortgage Loan Originator new application fee from $100 to $125 (plus a $20 recovery fee);
  • Mortgage Loan Originator renewal fee from $70 to $90;
  • Mortgage Company new application fee from $300 to $325;
  • Mortgage Company renewal fee from $250 to $275;
  • Mortgage Banker new registration fee from $300 to $325;
  • Mortgage Banker renewal registration fee from $250 to $275;
  • Mortgage Servicer new registration fee from $300 to $325;
  • Mortgage Servicer renewal registration fee from $250 to $275;
  • Credit Union Subsidiary Organization new application fee from $300 to $325;
  • Credit Union Subsidiary Organization renewal fee from $250 to $275;
  • Independent Contractor Loan Processor and Underwriter Company new application fee from $300 to $325; and
  • Independent Contractor Loan Processor and Underwriter Company renewal fee from $250 to $275.

The fee increases are effective November 1, 2024.

The Department’s licensing/registration fees remain one of the lowest in the United States.
