The Department of Savings and Mortgage Lending (SML or the Department) is considering changes to its rules in 7 Texas Administrative Code (TAC) Chapters 52, 53, 57, 61, 63, 64, 65, 67, 69, 71, and 73, affecting savings and loan associations chartered by the Department under Texas Finance Code Title 3, Subtitle B (primarily Chapters 61-67, and 89). The rule changes were identified during the Department’s periodic review of its rules conducted pursuant to Texas Government Code § 2001.039.
The Department will hold a stakeholders webinar on March 23, 2023 at 9:00 a.m. to discuss the pre-comment draft of the rule changes.
The Department will also accept informal written pre-comments until March 27, 2023 at 5:00 p.m.
