The Department of Savings and Mortgage Lending is now accepting applications for the 2023 – 2024 cycle of the Mortgage Grant Fund grant program (MGF). Applications must be submitted before midnight on December 14, 2022 to be considered. The program’s mission is to support financial education, literacy, and capability that leads to tangible improvements in financial health, enabling consumers to obtain and maintain mortgage loans.
The MGF was established by the 87th Texas Legislature by enactment of Texas Finance Code Chapter 156, Subchapter G. The Department administers the MGF according to that code and to the administrative rules in 7 Texas Administrative Code Chapter 51, Subchapter E.
